Firstbase review: forming a US company from abroad
Updated November 2, 2026
Firstbase forms US companies in Delaware or Wyoming for founders who live abroad, gets the tax ID (EIN) and sells yearly services on top: registered agent, mail, accounting and tax filing. Its own pages say you don't need to be a US resident, an SSN or an ITIN to get the EIN.
What it costs
| Item | Price on Firstbase's pages |
|---|---|
| Formation | Firstbase's "Start" page says: "Formation is on us. Pay only your state fee." On 22 October 2026 its pricing page showed $99 one-time plus the state fee. Check the price at checkout. |
| Registered agent | From $299 per year |
| Mail (Mailroom) | From $35 per month |
| Yearly US tax filing, non-US-owned single-member LLC | $899 per year (pricing page, 22 October 2026) |

Countries it can't serve
Firstbase publishes a list of 22 restricted countries. If you live in one of them, Firstbase can't create your account. It also says its partners, especially banks, may have different criteria: being accepted by Firstbase doesn't guarantee a bank account.
Strong points
- Public list of restricted countries: you know before you pay.
- EIN without an SSN or ITIN, and company documents (such as the operating agreement) included.
- Services sold one by one: you pay only for what you use.
Limits
- The yearly costs add up: registered agent, state fees and, for a foreign owner, the yearly Form 5472 (IRS penalty for not filing: $25,000).
- The bank account depends on Firstbase's banking partners and needs its own approval.
- Only Delaware and Wyoming.
Who it suits
- Founders who want the lowest start-up cost and will choose yearly services one by one.
- Founders who want to check eligibility before paying, thanks to the public restricted list.
- If you want one yearly plan that includes the IRS filing, compare with doola's Tax and Compliance plan.
